We couldn’t miss adding this day trip to our list! Though we’re almost sure you know the story behind Abu Simble temple and Ramses II story, we thought that going further through the stories engraved on the temple’s walls that tell about both, love & power, is worth the experience.
What you will do
Guides will pick you up for a three-hour and a half drive to Abu Simble, the temple known for its annual two-day sun festivals, where you’d enjoy the great mix of love and glory stories on its walls, and if you’re lucky enough to visit on either Feb. 22nd or Oct. 22nd, you’ll be witnessing the miracle of science and astronomy in the ancient life where the sun rays lighten up the whole spot except for the one of Ptah’s, the God of darkness. By the end of the trip, guides will get you back to your place.

Abu Simble temple
Miracles happen where love & power meet! The breathtaking two-temple monument which lost its identity decades ago & got named after a young boy who led the explorers to this sacred spot, Abu Simbel; the 2nd temple ever dedicated by a ruler to his wife & Egypt’s 2nd most visited & rescued site, & where you could watch history coming to life through the fourh-built Sound & Light Show! Beforehand, you’d undisputedly enjoy the engravings of battle of Kadesh, triumphs, offerings to goddess Hathor & rituals among 4 colossi Ramses II statues flanking the Great Temple’s entrance, followed by another 4 which are unlikely similar in size of 2 of his wife Nefertari accessing the smaller temple that manifest admiration, appreciation & solidity of the past. Along with experiencing the ancient immense understanding of science, astronomy & technology where they settled Ramses II & God Amun’s statues to be annually illuminated by early sun rays on Feb. 22 & Oct. 22; Ramses II birth & coronation dates… with different God Ptah’s statue positioning – God of darkness – to perpetually be kept in darkness, even during the Sun Festival!
