Itinerary

Day 1Welcome to Egypt

Aladin Tour’s representative will meet you at Cairo International Airport and accompany you to your hotel for overnight. He will give you brief idea about your program and an introduction about the Egyptian culture and habits.

Day 2Cairo

Start your Ancient adventure with a tour in the Egyptian museum. Here are displayed the most beautiful artifacts of Ancient Egypt, royal mummies and the amazing treasure of King Tutankhamun. Your guide will lead you inside the museum and explain you all the highlights.
Discover the last remaining ancient wonder of the world : the Pyramids of Giza : Cheops, Mykerinus and Chephren. Learn the history of this miraculous edifices that still keep the mystery of their construction. From the Plateau, enjoy the unique view of the Pyramids emerging from the golden sand of Giza. It’s the moment to take the pictures of your life ! Before leaving the site, let’s greet Abu El Hol, the 3000 years old great Sphinx.
Make your way through the streets of Khan El Khalili, the medieval market. Spices, gold, soap, handmade souvenirs… you can find almost anything here. Need to go back home with a souvenir : Khan El Khalili is the ideal place for that !
In the beginning, after gathering your belongings, you will be taken to the train station to catch the sleeping train to Luxor. While you are dreaming, the train is rolling to your next destination.

Day 3Luxor - East bank

Wake up in the sleeping train and have breakfast. Once in Luxor, you will be driven to your next accommodation: a Nile cruise ship. All cabins are double, with private bathroom, television and A/C. Have breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurant on board and enjoy the swimming pool on the deck !

After lunch, get in a carriage to join the massive temple of Karnak. Enter the vastest Ancient temple of Egypt and admire the colored engravings and hieroglyphs on the walls. During more than 2000 years, about thirty Pharaohs have contributed to the construction of the building, making it unique by its size, its degree of elaboration and the diversity of styles.
Follow the sphinxes alley to Luxor temple. It’s late afternoon, the perfect time to enjoy the splendor of the Ancient architecture highlighted by the shimmering rays of the setting sun. Enter the site facing the immense pylon of Ramses II, his monumental colossi and of course the huge obelisk. Here, the union of Mut and Amun and the rebirth of their son used to take place every year for the Opet Festival. This ceremony radiated on the Pharaoh, who could thus renew his power above whole Egypt. The site also hosts a roman chapel and a mosque that make this place quite singular.

Day 4Luxor - West bank

Star an unforgettable excursion to the West bank of Luxor. Discover first the valley of the Kings, a set of 63 tombs excavated in the rock of the mountain, the most famous one is of course King Tut tomb, whose mask was displayed at the Egyptian museum. Venture inside three royal tombs and examine the colored scenes on the walls, these give you insights on the beliefs and funerary rites of Ancient Egyptian. These tombs are also a great reminder of the prestige and greatness of the pharaohs.
Continue your visit with the memorial temple of Hatshepsut. Arriving to the site, the impressive cliff will not miss to captivate your eyes. But it’s at the foot of this masterpiece of nature that remains the real wonder. The external architecture match perfectly with the refined cliff, the building seems to have been sculpted into the rock. Once inside you will notice that many statues and engraving have their face destroyed, your expert guide will explain you the strong history behind this.

Join your cruise ship for lunch and start sailing. Enjoy the peace granted by the river and contemplate the scenery that only Africa can offer : be amazed by the variety of birds searching for food in the long grass, observe the villages on both banks of the river and discover the fauna and the flora of the Nile Valley. You can also enjoy swimming or playing on the desk !

Day 5Edfu - Kom Ombo

After breakfast on your cruise ship, make a stop at Edfu to visit the well-preserved Ptolemaic Temple dedicated to Horus, Osiris’ vengeful son. Sail to Kom Ombo and top over the “double-temple” of Sobek,. This temple is perfectly symmetrical : one half is dedicated to the crocodile dod Sobek and the other to the falcon-headed god Horus. The area used to hosts many crocodiles, nowadays the only one you can see are the mummified ones of the Crocodile Museum nearby.
Join your ship for lunch and continue sailing to Aswan.

Day 6Aswan - Abu Simbel

Around 4 AM, you will be driven during 3 hours to Abu Simbel. The way is long but well worth to witness the greatness of these Ancient temples. Ramses II decided to built himself and his wife Nefertari theses two massive temple in in order to establish his supremacy upon the Nubians.
Visit these two masterpieces with your Egyptologist guide and discover the history of this place and of the great Pharaoh who build them. You will have plenty of time to take memorable photos.

The excursion at Abu Simbel is usually proposed as an expensive extra tour by the travel agencies. But AT Aladintour, we consider that this magnificent site is that important that it has to be a part of your trip.

Day 7Aswan - City highlights

Start your day with Philae temple, center of the cult of Isis. It’s incredible to realize that this temple was entirely moved from Philae to Agilika Island after the construction of the High Dam. Reach by motorboat the huge dam that while allowing Egyptians to enjoy a permanent agriculture has threatened a lot of houses and touristic sites, such as Abu Simbel temples. Let’s visit now the Symposium museum: an open-air museum with modern sculptures. Though overlooked by tourists, this museum displays pieces of modern art and thus allows you to catch a glimpse of today’s Egyptian society.

In the early evening, take the sleeper train back to Cairo, enriched with lots of stories and many wonderful photos.

Day 8Return to Cairo

This is the end of the King Tut family program. Once back in Cairo you can catch your international flight back home, or you can enjoy more time in Egypt by picking any visit or activity from our tailor made options.

    Cancellation 

    Free cancellation two weeks prior your arrival time.

    Cancellation within 12 days before your trip starts, 40% of your total payment will be nonrefundable.

    One week before the trip starts the full amount is nonrefundable. In case you are not happy with our services and we didn’t deliver as per our stated program (except due to reasons beyond our control), a proportionate amount of the cost will be refunded.

    Best price grantee policy

    In case you will find other cheaper travel agencies, please consider:

    Safety & Security

    We strongly recommend the use of a neck wallet or money belt while travelling, for the safe keeping of your passport, air tickets, cash and other valuable items. While sightseeing please keep your valuables with you, do not leave them in the car, or leave them in the safe in your hotel room. Your personal belongs are your full responsibility. Please do not accept any invitation for a drink or likewise from a stranger in the street. In case you would like to buy souvenirs or go shopping please get the best advice from your group leader or tour guide to avoid any misunderstandings.

    Activities out of your program

    Please contact your local guide for more information on available tours and excursions to make sure you are in a safe hands and receive the best advice. You may find people offering you cheaper prices but their service may not be reliable and you may end up paying more than what they originally quoted you. Always check with your guide who will advice you accordingly.  It is our aim to make our guests happy and satisfied.

    Trip walking or driving distance

    Please be aware that there are long driving hours on this tour. You can refer to the trip overview for more information on estimated travel times. Please note that any times mentioned are approximations only to give you an idea of the journey lengths and the actual time taken will depend on public transport timetables and road conditions. A mix of private and public transport is used throughout this trip, prepare yourself  for some fun long rides.

    Cash to carry

    We recommend you carry between 20 to 50 USD per day, or equivalent in EGP, depending on your personal needs. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping and tipping. Please also remember the following specific recommendations when planning your trip, also many places in Egypt do not accept credit card, only cash.

    Meals

    Eating is a big part of traveling fun and getting to know the country’s culture. Travelling with Aladin Tours you will experience a lot of different local foods; we include lunch in your program with a variety of different local dishes. Most of the time dinner is not included which gives you more flexibility in deciding what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more flexibility with your budget – the food is generally cheap in Egypt. Our groups tend to eat together so you can enjoy each other’s company. Your tour leader will be able to suggest all the best restaurants during your trip.

    Local flights 

    Please make sure to attach your passport copy with your final confirmation in order to book the flight tickets. Internal flight tickets are issued locally and will be given to you prior to the flight departure.Domestic carriers for internal flights in Egypt will be Egypt Air or Nile Air. Flight information will not be available until a couple of days prior to the tour departure. Contact us for more details on your flights.The domestic flight maximum weight allowance is 20 kg.

    Tipping

    Tipping in Egypt is known as “baksheesh” and it is a way of life in the Middle East. Locals themselves usually tip whoever provides them with service.  It is customary and even expected to tip small service providers. To make things as easy as possible and to avoid any hassle, Aladin Tours has a tip kitty; your tour leader will collect a contribution from everybody at the start of your tour and use this to tip anybody who has provided services to the group as a whole. A guideline for tipping is a minimum of $4 USD per day per person, you can pay in USD or the equivalent local currency (preferably local currency). If you feel that any service provider failed in maintaining or delivering a good service, please bring it immediately to the attention of your tour leader to be able to improve our service partners and so a deduction of tips can take place. Regarding the amount you should tip your tour guide, we suggest a minimum of 3$ per person per day, but at the end of the day it’s not a mandatory option.
